Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Dealing with Unauthorized Animals in the Building

Issues surrounding unauthorized animals entering the Civic Centre was brought to the attention of Port Hawkesbury council at their last regular meeting.

Councilor Jason Aucoin says they heard concerns from people that are afraid of certain pets and having outdoor animals in the civic centre is a hygiene issue.

The town plans to develop a policy that will allow security to enforce the rules surrounding animals to ensure that only service and therapy animals enter the building, the only animals currently permitted.

They will look at other jurisdictions policies on enforcing these measures.

This matter will be brought up at a future council meeting.
