Basketball players have swept the latest StFX athlete of the week awards.
Avan Nava, a guard with the X-Men basketball team, is the male winner after he scored a team-high 26 points in Saturday’s home overtime win against Memorial; he was named player of the game.
Nava followed that up with 16 points and five assists in Sunday’s home loss to Memorial.
Briar MacDonald, an X-Women basketball forward, earned female honours.
MacDonald, an Antigonish rookie, had a team-high 19 points and seven rebounds in Saturday’s home loss to Memorial.
She recorded her first double-double of the season- 11 points and 10 rebounds- in Sunday’s home loss to Memorial.
