Officials at StFX have held their 2020 fall convocation.
240 students received degrees and diplomas in a number of areas, including Master of Science and Master of Education, as well as Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Nursing.
Laurie Halfpenny-MacQuarrie, a well-known local lawyer, judge, volunteer and social activist, received an honorary doctorate degree during Saturday’s ceremony; university officials also formally installed Dr. Andy Hakin, StFX’s 19th president and vice-chancellor.
Both virtual ceremonies took place with a small, physically-distanced stage party in the MacKay Room; there was no in-person audience due to COVID-19.
