Two men arrested following Richmond Co. disturbance

A pair of suspects face charges in relation to an incident in Richmond Co.

Police say two men and a dog showed up at a home on Chapel Island Rd. and tried to sell drugs to the homeowner at roughly 10:45 p.m. Thursday.

They say the woman yelled at the two men, one left, but the second didn’t; she tried to push him out, there was a struggle, and she called police.

RCMP say he threatened the homeowner and damaged her property, but he eventually left; the woman wasn’t hurt.

They say officers arrested the two men- plus a third- in Eskasoni shortly after; one of the three resisted arrest.

Police say Tristan James Marchand, 33, of Louisdale has been charged with four counts of possession, two mischief counts, resisting arrest, false alarm of fire, break-and-enter, assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and four breaches; he remains in custody, and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday.

They say Roderick Norman Alfred Hearn of D’Escousse faces a single count of assault; he was released from custody on conditions, and is expected back in court Tuesday.

RCMP say the third man arrested was released without charges.
