Two basketball players have swept the latest StFX athlete of the week awards.
Avan Nava, a guard with the X-Men, earned male honours after he scored a game-high 25 points- including the game-winning basket- and added six rebounds and three assists in Saturday’s 78-77 home win against Dalhousie, the Tigers’ first loss of the season; he was named player of the game.
Marley Bonnick, an X-Women forward, is the female winner; she recorded a game-high 19 points and had nine rebounds, four steals and an assist in Thursday’s 65-46 home win against Dalhousie.
Bonnick also had 15 points, five rebounds, three steals and an assist in Saturday’s 68-62 home loss to Dalhousie.
