Two Mulgrave men have been charged by the RCMP’s Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
RCMP say the men were charged with offences related to child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) and ten firearms were seized after a search warrant was executed.
In April, police began investigating an address in Mulgrave that reportedly transmitted CSAEM after receiving information from an electronic service provider.
The Internet Child Exploitation Unit and RCMP Digital Forensic Services searched a residence in the 0-100 block of Tower Rd. in Mulgrave with a warrant on May 27.
Other units that supported the search warrant execution, included the RCMP Emergency Response Team, RCMP Tactical Support Group, Inverness County District RCMP, and the Inverness-Richmond Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
Officers seized electronic evidence, unsecured firearms, and ammunition during the search.
A 38-year-old man has been charged with two counts of possessing of CSAEM and two counts of transmitting of CSAEM.
A 48-year-old man has been charged with possessing of CSAEM and unsafe firearm storage.
Both men have been released on conditions and are scheduled to appear at Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on July 27.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police give the reminder that in Nova Scotia, it is mandatory for citizens to report suspected CSAEM to authorities.
