Warden says no issues with electric utility transfer

The Warden of the Municipality of the District of Guysborough says the transfer of the former Canso Electric Utility to Nova Scotia Power has gone perfectly.

Vernon Pitts says they are glad to have the asset gone.

Pitts tells The Hawk NSP worked with the community.

“Nova Scotia Power made Canso aware of what was taking place, they’re well established in the community, they’ve done numerous upgrades, they’re looking at doing some more going down the road,” he says. “I think it’s going to be good. The municipality didn’t have the manpower nor the infrastructure to maintain an electric utility, we’re not into that business, and I think Nova Scotia Power is the best one to do it.”

Pitts says they don’t have any issues with how the transfer has gone so far.
