Two people safe after weekend search in Inverness Co.

Two kayakers are safe after their boat capsized near Port Hood on the weekend.

RCMP say two people were returning from a day trip to Port Hood Island when a wave capsized their kayak around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

One man was able to make it to shore immediately, but a woman was not.

Police say local fisherman, Auxiliary Coast Guard, and RCMP boats searched for the woman.

Police say she made it shore on her own just before 11 p.m.

RCMP say neither of the people were injured.
