Five candidates for chief in Paqtnkek

It will be a crowded ballot for band elections at a First Nations community in Antigonish Co.

Paqtnkek band members will cast their ballots for a chief and councillors Nov. 21.

Five people are running for chief- P.J. Prosper, the incumbent, is being challenged by Trevor Gould, Sally Johnson, Michael Julian and Rosalind Paul.

There are six council positions available, up one from the current five; 37 candidates are running for those six spots.
