The mayor of Antigonish says town officials expect to sit down with their newly re-elected Member of Parliament soon.
Sean Fraser won a second term as the MP for Central Nova in the Oct. 21 federal election.
After October’s regular town council meeting Monday night, Laurie Boucher, the town’s mayor, said they want to discuss current and future initiatives.
“Projects that we have in place already, continuing with them, and some that we have upcoming that we’re excited about,” she said. “Definitely in the near future we’ll be sitting down with MP Sean Fraser.”
Boucher said town officials want to continue their strong relationship.
“We’ve had much success with Sean over the past number of years that’s he been our MP,” she said. “He’s done a lot for our area.”
Boucher said they’ll meet sometime after all of the new roles in Ottawa become official.
