Port Hood reservoir levels building up

Inverness County’s warden says the water level supply in Port Hood is building up again.

Municipal officials said the water level in the reservoir tank was significantly impacted by a number of factor and asked Port Hood water customers to limit usage and conserve water earlier this month.

Warden Betty Ann MacQuarrie tells The Hawk the situation is improving.

“The water is being built up again (and) I’m pretty sure the supply is there for firefighting purposes” she said. “That’s always a 40% level that has to be there for fighting fires in Port Hood and area.”

MacQuarrie says the issue has been corrected but it can take some time to replenish the levels.
