Town officials say councillors and firefighters trying to better work together

The mayor of Mulgrave says a meeting between town councillors and members of the town’s volunteer fire department has helped get the two back on the same page.

A feud between Mulgrave’s CAO and fire chief boiled over during January’s regular town council meeting.

After March’s regular meeting Monday night, Ralph Hadley, the mayor of the town, said councillors and members of the fire department’s executive committee came together to work past their now-public issues in February.

“We discussed some matters that we were having some problems with, and everything went very well- at the end, we all said we want to work as a unit,” he said. “We want to try to better the fire department- and the town- and move on and work together.”

Hadley said they’ll be working more closely with members of their fire department from now on.
